So, the Skeleton Bride was originally going to be Velma from Scooby Doo.  And the Barbie Diva was originally going to be FrankenDog (yes, green faced monster combined with a dog...you read it right).  And thanks to Party City advertisements, these two creatures were born.  My preference would've been the original ideas, but it's not about me, is it?  (itsnotaboutmeitsnotaboutmeitsnotaboutme...) 

But, I was able to put my mark on the costume in the form of makeup.

Today's WW features Stephen King.

1. “I tend to scare myself…”
When was the last time you scared yourself?

I do it every day driving.  I hate driving in the city.  I like road trips, but I'm not a safe, smart, defensive, good driver by any means on a day-to-day basis.  I apologize for all past, present and future traffic indescritions I've commited.


2. “Time heals all wounds…”
What was the longest it took you to recover from an illness, injury or surgery?

In a physical sense, I suppose I've been quite blessed.  I haven't had too many ailments that fall in the "recover" column. 

I am still emotionally reconciling some choices made moons ago that affect my physical well-being.

3. “Your first impulse is to share good news. Your second is to club someone over the head with it…”
What was the last good news you had to share?

I went to the Galleria today and got a free pumpkin truffle.  Yay!

4. “When it comes to the past, we all stack the deck…”
Is there something in your past you speak highly of that was not so great while you were going through it?

Yes, there are several things.  It's part of progress and growing closer to God.  I always say, pain = growth, from bad comes good, and trust the process.  I try to own and speak highly of my mistakes, bad choices, erratic judgment calls, inconsistent behaviors.

Mix those things in with the good qualities I've been given and the result is WHO I AM.  I am perfectly me.  :)

5. “Do you drink? Of course! I just said I was a writer!..”

What do you need to drink to do?

I don't NEED to drink to do anything, which is good and bad.  Like everyone, many of my guards go off-duty when I've had too much to drink, and my inhibitions become uninhibited.

Suffice it to say that I do should not ever drink too much.  Ever.

I do get a giggle out of human behavior in the context of drinking.  It's interesting to me when people say they drive better, dance better, last longer during "relations" (<~~~ you men), think better while drunk or tipsy.  Humans are funny people.  That all I have to say about that.

6. “If you liked being a teenager, then there’s something really wrong with you…”

What did you like about being a teenager?

I'm probably guilty of being that girl who is stuck in her teenage years because they were so fun, especially at school.  I was a good girl, good student, smiley.  I have fond memories of friendships, but very few of actual events.  I remember the moods and the relationships and when I look back at my teenage years, I wish I was still there sometimes.

7. “Nobody likes a clown at midnight…”

What do you like at midnight?

Everything.

8. “It is the tale, not he who told it…”

Who is your favorite teller of tales or jokes?

Red Skelton was pretty good.  Steven Wright is another.  Kenny Rogers sure knows how to sing a story!  I'm sure there are others....

Were you ever conned or fooled into a scam?

Oh gosh, yes!  More than once.  My ignorance is so blissful.  Please keep me there.  It's too painful to know I've been taken for granted. 

10. “If fear cannot be articulated, then it can’t be conquered…”

What do you fear?

Anaesthesia.  I have an irrational fear of not waking up from it.  But I suppose that might be considered an irrational anxiety.  Now I'm wondering -- is there a difference between a fear and an anxiety?  Hmmm...

I do find that I'm afraid to take emotional risks in relationships.  I try to play it safe for the most part.  I mess up a lot and it makes me more and more gun-shy, less willing to trust.  That's not healthy, to withdraw.

Bandwagon Rides Are Fun

I admit it.

I'm on the bandwagon.  I'm THRILLED for the Texas Rangers headed to their first ever World Series! And I am not ashamed to admit that I'm into it because they are winning, and they are from Texas and there are a whole bunch of really hot guys out there.  haha!

Josh Hamilton -- what a story, huh?  Cutie pie.  MVP giving Glory to God.  As it should be.  Amen.

Greenberg -- the ownership dispute, bankruptcy and all that legal speed bump mid-season.

Nolan Ryan - stud, legend, bigger than life.

Ron Washington - apparently first and only time cocaine use does pay off!  "That's the way baseball go."

Neftali - awesomeness.  More awesomeness awaits him. 

Cliff Lee -- what a babe. And he can pitch.  And he's muy sexy.

I don't watch much baseball -- I really only watch it when I'm AT the game.  But this post-season stuff has been pretty exciting, especially this victory over the Yankees.  There are a handful of teams that I just.don't.like.  Oakland Raiders (NFL), LA Lakers (NBA), and the NY Yankees (MLB).  Even if the Rangers fall on their asses to the Phillies or the Giants in the World Series, the fact that they so handily cleaned the clock of the Yankees is sweetsweetnextbestthingtotheWorldSeries.  All you baseball buffs -- have you EVER seen the Yankees so DOMINATED? 

Also, the little dig to A-Rod.  And Tex.  *snicker*

I hope there's a movie made about this team someday; it's such a great story.

Go Rangers!!

(P.S.  Thanks to the Rangers, people have hope in Texas sports teams again in the post-season.  Since the Mavs and the Cowboys have teased us, this entry into the World Series by the most unlikely of teams is so satisfying.  Maybe the Stars will go to the Stanley Cup this year.  *crosses fingers*  Here's hopin'!)

Music Minute: Madonna

Chances are that Madonna has at least ONE song you'll dig. 

I give her loads of credit as a savvy entertainer because she's constantly reinventing herself; she is timeless.  She pulls all of the past and all of the future into the now.  She invents trends and make sher mark in that timelessness.

I dig LOTS of her songs.  I've included a new playlist that includes:

• Don't Cry For Me Argentina from the movie "Evita".  "Evita" is one of my favorite musicals to watch.  I love the story.  I thought Madonna did a pretty good job in the movie.  I definitely like her voice as Eva Perón, especially this song.
• Erotic - just a damn sexy song.
• Justify My Love - another damn sexy song
• Rain - I love all things water, and this song washes over me like water when I hear it. 
• Sorry - The use of mulitiple languages is what I like most, as well as the message
• Like A Prayer - even though the video is controversial, I love the gospel sounds of it.  There are some groovin' club mixes to this song that make me get up and dance.  A fave for a long time!
• I Want You - Never heard it before making this playlist, but liked it.  I'll be giving it a listen more.

I guess by me choosing to not watch the news anymore leaves me a bit outoftheknow.  I had to go look up Christine O'Donnell. 

1. On why she's anti masturbation: "If he already knows what pleases him and he can please himself, then why am I in the picture?"  Have you ever heard a stupider statement? If yes, when?

This is a Catholic's way of saying, "I'm Catholic and we're not allowed to masturbate."

And for the record, there is ALWAYS stupider.  <~~ here's just a sample

Sure, why not?  Make it a source of taxation/revenue.  That'll take care of the civil side of things.

I wasn't alive then, but I'm sure I'm reaping some benefit of which I'm completely ignorant.  So, thanks 60's Revolution!

In the biblical sense, yes, if the fantasy especially is about someone other than your partner.  I think it's human nature, though, therefore impossible to abstain from it.

5. On co-ed dorms: “What's next? Orgy rooms? Menage-trois rooms? Coedness is like a radical agenda forced on college students.”  Have you ever been asked to participate in other than a one on one sexual experience?

Yes, I have been asked.  The end.

Dorothy the Dinosaur is my favorite.  She's silly, can sing, loves roses and is famous.

Dieting.  So dumb.  Glad I'm over that.

I don't know the entirety of her agenda since I don't watch the news and purposefully try to avoid politics.  In my Switzerland style, I'll simply say that I agreed with her on some things and disagreed on others. 

9. "American scientific companies are cross-breeding humans and animals and coming up with mice with fully functioning human brains."  What animal would you like your brain cross breed with?

I'd like to cross breed with....  wait.

Is this some sort of cheezy pick up line spawned by Question 5?

Kim Kardashian is the inspiration for this week's Wednesday Wickedness...  These questions turned out to be funner than I expected.  I saw "Kardashian" and thought, "wtf do *I* have in common with a Kardashian besides my gorgeous body and looks?!  Gawww!"  Lo and behold, Kim and I have a LOT in common!


1. "White is actually one of my favorite colors. I have a white car. I love white." Tell us about your first car.

I learned to drive with my mom's 1986 Oldsmobile Cutlass. It was a steel blue ride, all tricked out for 1987.  (Maybe I remember it as "tricked out" as in "I'm a military brat white girl who has no idea what 'tricked out' even means, but I'm cool because I can drive and you can't.)  I remember the steering being very responsive!  What a weird thing to remember....  Anyway, it was an automatic.  I liked that car because we took a lot of road trips in it as a family. 

My parents were smart.  They made sure I could drive a standard.  So, enter center stage this bad boy:

The first car I ever drove as a licensed driver was a 1982 Toyota pickup truck that was my dad's.  (I don't think I took my driver's test in the pickup, so maybe I am lying here.  So *technically*, the first car I drove as a licensed driver was the Cutlass.  I just wanted to work in the 1982 brown truck is all....)  It was a standard, chocolate brown with three stripes along the sides.  The stripes were varying degrees of lighter shades of brown.  I can't believe it but I actually found a picture online that is VERY similar to it (why am I in disbelief?  I mean...it's the friggin' internets, man! EVERYTHING is on these webs!)

MY first car -- the first one I owned on my own -- the first one I ever financed all by myself and didn't have to borrow or whore to use is this:

First of all...I'm kidding about the whore part.  Totally.  Second of all, this car comes with that checkered showroom floor.  THAT'S how cool that car is!  And yes, it was silver.  And yes, my brother wanted to borrow it.  A lot.

P.S. Blue is MY favorite color!

I have definitely had times of paranoia.  We all have (right?!). 

Example:  I was in a hit & run accident in high school RIGHT after I received my driver's license.  I was driving that brown truck up there when I hit a parked car and left the scene of the accident.  I lied to my parents and told them that the truck was vandalized at the football game.  I was sweating bullets all that night, sleepless conniving lie after lie.  After much stress and paranoia, I came clean but boy was there some steep consequences! 

Ahhh youth.  (Love you, mom!)

3. "I opened the store myself. Even Paris and Nicky Hilton -- they`re completely independent too." How old were you and what were you doing when you became independent of your parents?

My parents empty-nested when I was 21.  Dad got an overseas assignment and they moved to Hawaii while my brother and I stayed state-side.  I was living alone in my own apartment, going to college, dating someone seriously, and working.  I haven't been home since.
4. "I want to be a Bond girl!" Have you ever wanted to be in the movies?

ohmygosh YES!  I think I am more attracted to stage life these days, but yes, I did want to be on the silver screen.  Dig around the blog to learn more about that.  Spending the time digging is time well spent...I'm worth the read.  :P
5. "I would never snub Hugh Hefner. I love him and his whole team." How much money would it take for you to pose nude?

I don't think there's any amount of money that I would take.  Of course, you could try.  I'm open to entertaining all offers.  :P

Angelina Jolie, Lauren Graham, Sara Ramirez

7. "I'm the girl who's too shy to dance in a nightclub — maybe for one song, and then that's it." Tell us about the last time that you danced in a nightclub?

It's been too long.  I miss nightclub dancing.  I love it!  I love the fever and the beat and the sexuality of it.  I love the raw air, the unspoken words of eyes, looks and hands....bodies alive in passionate movement, the lights.  Don't even need a drink to get intoxicated!  The atmosphere is soooo HAWT!! 

With that being said -- yeah...hmmm....I think it's been a few years.  Now I'd be called a cougar and that would be pathetic. I would never want to be classified as that.  Is there a 40-something night club?  And what would you call the boys who show up at the 40-club looking for "experienced" women to bring back to the bachelor pad?  Cubs?  Club Cubs.  Yeah, I guess that works.....

Anyone want to take me dancing?
8. "I want to be pregnant by the time I'm 30, hopefully." Since normal people don’t decide on having kids depending on their age, what factors do you think are important when making that decision?

I think age is a factor for sure!  I didn't want kids when I was younger.  When I was pregnant with My Eldest, I delivered her when I was 29.  At that point, I told myself that I wanted to be done having children by the age of 35.  My Little One was born when I was 35.

What OTHER factors are important when making this decision?  Well, for sure your value system, faith practice & teachings, relationship status.  In the event of unexpected pregnancy in the case of wanted/unwanted or health concerns, as in my case, there is no question about it the fact that the baby inside is a gift from Above, even if it doesn't feel like one.  Even if one if fear-filled and having feelings of ill-will, impropriety, even doom, it's a gift.  There are still responsible and smart decisions to be made in every situation.  At the core of all decisions is love, trust and communication.  (Easier said than done.  I know!)  It's like I always say -- from bad comes good.  Trust the process (TTP).

9. "My balance is really bad. I just hope my clumsiness doesn't show through". Is there anything about you that you hope doesn’t show through?

I have many spiritual, physical and emotional faults, failures, vulnerabilities, defects, secrets, inequities that I hide.  We all do.  I'm no different.  I hope they don't come through, but if & when they do, it's best to own it and deal with it head-on.  Ideally, through self-discovery, I can reconcile them BEFORE they are revealed.  Again -- another TTP moment.

10. "I eat less junk food, hardly any soda, and just try to eat more protein. I definitely can’t give up sweets all together, so I just toned them down!" How does one “tone down” their diet?

Eat closer to the source, minimize processed foods, moderation, moderation, moderation.  Don't ask me the mechanics of all that because I'm not good at doing ANY of that!  :)
